Scratchbuildersguild.com is live. DNS servers around the world are updating themselves to add Scratchbuildersguild.com to their list. This is very exciting as we are one step closer to a finished product here.

Let the reviews begin...
Today i received the first of 4 planned review and build projects. Full Steam Ahead (FSA), an Ontario producers model Farmer's Market arrived first. I expect to post something by Sunday on this beauty.
As for today i am out to get some materials suggested by FSA's owner Joe Rutter. This is an exciting build for me just cause it is a first for The Scratchbuilders Guild. Expect good thing and stay tuned, for i will be back.

Now if you'll excuse i have a small need to go dance a jig...

Passing Loop - Today we find Donald has posted about some high speed trains. I'm not going to spoils all the fun for him but here is a little quote and picture from the BBC story.
The AGV train will travel at up to 360km/hThat is pretty impressive if you ask me. Someone please call Via's franco division to pick us one up, eh ?
Bayside & Tidewater - Scott's blog is promoting a few friends he has made over the years including Wolfgang Dudler's Westport Terminal RR.
Eddie's Rail Fan Blog - Eddie's blog is very active he has daily posts about railroading. You can always expect lots of great pictures in this blog.

Clever Models on board

Clever Models are on the guest list now, and that makes it total 4. So now that we have a few reviews on order we will make sure to document each the build as we go.
The guys at Clever Models have designed some card models and high resolution texture sheets. We are very interested to see how easy it is to build. Not only that how does card modeling compare to wood or plastic kits.
By the looks of this picture i could do my Dream layout very easily. Descriptively titled "In the shadow of the Hamilton mountain" in it lays out acres of steel company built neighborhoods. I can really picture those rows of houses with just this shot.
Anyways welcome aboard and let the Reviews begin.
Full steam ahead joins the guild...
Oh I look forward to my email inbox these days, cause lately it has been a nice source of review material. Today we received word from Full Steam Ahead. Joe contacted me and we talked about the FSA product line. I really appreciated the chance to talk to an owner of one of these craftsman companies.
Full Steam Ahead produces wooden structures that look OutstandingAs usual here a quote from the site describing his kits.
Every kit is packaged in a wooden cigar type box with my logo, the kit's name and a fencing jig on the back.
These are some comforting words from the maker. I know what it feels like to get a structure that while finished still looks like it is missing something.
Because I wanted a complete kit I also include everything to make a first class foreground structure. All buildings have billboards, laser-cut roofing, lots of metal castings, over 100 scale feet of fencing material and colourful signs.

Site news...
A new article has been released in this weeks adition we find a complete roadmap of how to create a blog for your railroad. This is a great free way to document your creation.
Blog your Railroad
Railnews Monday Feb 4th
Ok i said things were going to change and they have. Why ? well i found there are sites that do the news very nicely and i'll be adding their feed as soon as it looks right. You see using a blog as your website gives you a package of free options including RSS feeds. Anyways thats another story i'm working on so back to the news.
First piece is a Youtube video made this weekend of an operating session. Some of you might now be that experience with these but it is the pinnacle of model railroading. Role playing at its finest operating sessions focus on the job of railroading. The Central Indiana & Ohio Railroad looks great its very easy to get lost in the action.See the layout a little different this time. We combined tripod and walk around action. Also see the CATS distpatching system in action. Then a message at the end from CIOR Life Saver, as we see a close to tragic event!
Next piece of news we have is the National Model R ail Association has a new website and it looks very nice. take a look www.nmra.org. The NMRA are what keeps the hobby alive and strong if you ask me. Its a bit complicated but true., read a bit at their site and see for yourself.

Detailed Tree's is getting around...
Today i was checking out the traffic of the site and noticed a new referring link. So intregued i followed and was quit surprised by the write-up i found.
David Farquhar's website Silicon Underground
Dave writes
Now thats what i like to see. The response to Scratchbuildersguild has been great. No i have to get back up to the bench and finish more projects. The first thing I thought when I saw this project was that I could probably go out and buy everything I needed to make some of these even if I was visiting my in-laws in southeastern Missouri. And I might not even have to drive 30 miles to the nearest Hobby Lobby to get what I need.
It might be the first project I've ever seen where this is true.
New record set...
Ok for some sites 110 unique visits isn't a big deal. If you seen how long we have been at this you'll realized this is a big deal. In 3 weeks our readership has gone from a max of 2 to 110. We look forward to our next goal of 150. A special thanks goes out to everyone who is joining us for an average of 5.35 minutes.
Today News is going to change a little bit. I don't want to clutter things up here and thats whats happening in my opinion.
So todays news is we are changing a wee bit don't worry i'm not getting lazy i just want things to look better.
Today i leave you with a Youtube animated scene.
